The Bundle Break Lesson Plan.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

 

In this care learning experience, children will explore different types of musical instruments in an orchestra. They will discover terminology, build their own instruments, and communicate fun facts about music. Remember, the lesson is meant to be interactive and a conversation with the child. After asking them questions, always pause and wait for their response and reply accordingly.

 

THE MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:

Clean/empty Aluminum cans (any size), with no sharp edges with only one end removed (a plastic cup can be used if no can is available).

Balloons

5 rubber bands (varying sizes if possible, 1 for each can and rest for box)

2 wooden sticks, dowels, chopsticks or pencils • Tape • Child safe scissors

Small cardboard or shoe box with a 3 inches hole in the center Markers for decoration (optional)

INTRODUCTION - Begin the session by introducing yourself to the child and/or parent. Confirm the care experience that they signed up for and review the materials needed. - Then start your session. To break the ice, ask the child their name, their age, and what their favorite thing to do for fun is or favorite topic in school. - Explain that in this session you will explore different musical instruments in an orchestra, learn musical terminology and fun facts, build your own instruments, and discuss what you discovered together
